An international jury consisting of Milan Báchorek, Ivan Kurz, Hanuš Bartoň, Vít Zouhar (Czech Republic), Alexander Lasoń (Poland), Jevgenij Iršai (Slovakia) and László Tihányi (Hungary) studied all submitted works and evaluated the submitted compositions from the formal point of view and stated that they all met the conditions. The competition had a record number of competitors this year (86 compositions) and maintained its high level in both categories.

On March 29, 2021, an online conference on the ZOOM platform was held in Ostrava at the headquarters of the public benefit company Janáček’s May, organizer of the competition, with members of the jury, Jaromír Javůrek, director of Janáček’s May, o.p.s. and Johana Juríková, production.
