Experience a summer evening where the world of Leoš Janáček meets jazz. In the gardens of the Piarist Monastery in Příbor, original compositions inspired by motifs of the world-famous native of Hukvaldy will be performed by top jazz musicians who appear on the most prestigious stages around the globe.

An international ensemble of outstanding jazz musicians—regular guests of leading jazz clubs and festivals worldwide—will demonstrate that the music of Leoš Janáček remains vibrant and inspiring even for modern musical genres. The quartet, formed by Spanish saxophonist and composer Gianni Gagliardi, American guitarist Max Light, Russian double bassist Makar Novikov, and Californian drummer Jesse Simpson, who has been living in the Czech Republic since 2022, will reveal the hidden jazz potential of Janáček’s musical language.
