Dance Party in the Deer Park

Saturday, 8 pm
Hukvaldy Deer Park – amphitheatre

The original selection of pieces from the repertoire of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre ballet ensemble will begin with the ceremonial entry of the bullfighter Escamillo from the ballet Carmen to the music of Rodion K. Shchedrin and Georges Bizet. The romantic duet of the passionate Carmen and Escamillo will be followed by the Swan Lake, the symbol of classical ballet art. The famous ‘black’ pas de deux of the prince with Odilia from the 3rd act has been studied especially for the Janáček Festival and the setting of the Hukvaldy Amphitheater. After this comes the dramatic dance duel between Viscount de Valmont and the Chevalier Danceny from the production of Dangerous Liaisons.

The songs of When Your Mama and In This Weather! from the song cycle entitled Songs on the Death of Children and a short melody in Yiddish will bring closer the time and musical world of the genius creator Gustav Mahler and the ballet production of Memories of Mahler.

The magnificent Hukvaldy dance feast will end with the unique musical humor of Gioacchino Rossini and the final scene from the production of Rossini Cards.
